Brothers in Law is a three pieces band born from a real relationship connection. Funny enough their music is much more powerful than their (almost) blood connection. From the always surprising Italian east coast the dirt of the ocean sneaks into this recordings like a wave in your face while closing your eyes in front of the sea.

Dopo un breve tour e date opening act di band internazionali la band registra SPORTS in uscita a Marzo per We Were Never Being Boring.

A chiudere l’EP ecco “Tuesday?

“Sparkles” will arrive in May 2011, recorded in the band’s studio ( a flat called “us random calculator”) among others songs that will be included in the next album. “Sparkles’” music is built on few instruments and simple arrangements, heavily influenced by the joy of spare times and the love for the “12th fret”. The songs recorded during the end of 2010 and beginning of 2011 are in the same “family”, a “family” with its root in such tracks as “Crawling down the stairs” (recorded for Amnesty International & Buffetlibre): easy texture, shimmering pop melody and “modern” sound with cheap vintage equipment.

Timeless yet modern Folk from close-up to bird’s eye view that maps the landscapes of melancholy. Binoculers follows a minimalist attitude but fills the idea with versatile instruments and a loop machine. Imagine a musical box playing lullaby hymns at midnight. The songs are discreet and chary but not shy, rather a modest invitation than screaming and pushy. From the loneliness of a pirate to a circus in the clouds, this picturesque music spans a large spectrum.
Nadja Rüdebusch has been writing her songs and playing concerts under the name of Binoculers since 2007. She lives in Hamburg. The debut album “Every seaman’s got a favourite spaceship“ was self-released in November 2009 and came out again on the Hamburg based Label “Labelship” in November 2010 on Vinyl and CD. The second album “There Is Not Enough Space In The Dark” will be released in November 2012 on Insular Music.

La Batterie have found an excellent way of bowing out of typical mental-state-songwriting, still being able to convey this feeling of internalizing individual impressions. Pretty vanguard, this courageous step towards a bulky, antidromic Pop. At last there seems to be a back door, leading a way out of the crybaby-pop.
WESTZEIT, Germany (Juli 2012)
The Duo in fact manages to amaze the listener simply by having created something actual new here.
Sometimes such a thing can quickly backfire, many a wild soundcreation may be „new“, but also hardly bearable even for the most open minded coeval. Not so with Pascal Aperdannier and Anne Paschvoß; they indeed do without the conventional popsong, but demonstrate, that also without such a corset you can create sounds, that pick up the music consumer, without becoming too academic. New. Beautiful. (11)

I do like that! It puts me in mind of FIERY FURNACES in its invention and playfullness. And that is a band called LA BATTERIE. I don’t know much about them, but I can tell you:
That was called „Bed and Table“. They’re based in Berlin and the album is called „Firemen’s Parade on Main Street“ and it’s out now on Cake and Coffee Records.
MARK RILEY, BBC Radio 6, UK (Juni 2012)
You can’t blame LA BATTERIE for being uninspired. Their third album cannot be assigned to any genre: But the duo mixes up synthesizers, guitars, piano and drumsoli, creating such a jumble, that the listener occasionally wants orientation. The wish comes true by the use of short melodies, that die quickly though. Not until listening oftener, every song finally makes sense after all – this just requires some power of endurance.
ZITTY, Germany (Juni 2012)
Be Forest

Eux Autres play pop music. The band originally consisted of brother and sister Heather and Nicholas Larimer. Heather played drums, Nicholas played guitar, and they both sang. Practices frequently devolved into shoving matches. In an effort to quell these outbursts (and expand their sound), Eux Autres added drummer Yoshi Nakamoto (The Aislers Set, Still Flyin’) in 2008, and bassist Nathan Berlinguette in 2010.

Allo Darlin’ are many things. They can turn a room in a famous punk venue into a joyous, jumping, sweaty, pop-mosh pit. Or bring a room of 500 to hushed silence with the few strums of a ukulele and a love song about cooking. Allo Darlin’ are a breath of fresh air breezing through stale music everywhere. Elizabeth Morris’ thoughtful yet playful creations are achingly personal, incredibly poignant and familiar all at once. Incorporating tunes that you think you must have heard before, she twists them into something new and highly intoxicating.

“But Lofty Heights was the surprise of the night: the charming banter and sweet melodies of Californian Greg Griffin, joined in places by cello, slide guitar and piano.”
“A few months ago I got to see this charming gentleman play at the Duke Of Uke. His name is Greg/Lofty Heights and he has a debut single called Eye Contact on the way soon. He has a sweet voice and his folk pop is lovely.”

Since 2001, Eric Crespo has been recording under the name Ghost to Falco with a rotating cast of contributors from Portland’s independent music community. He recently released “Exotic Believers”, his third full-length and perhaps his most accomplished work to date. Released on his cooperative-run label, Infinite Front, “Exotic Believers” finds Ghost to Falco continuing to explore the odd intersections between folk songcraft, rock experimentation, and minimalist composition to assured results, at times bringing to mind Neil Young being backed by This Heat.

Quotes:
Formerly known as Jacob Perkins & The Nobody, Dear Frontier is Hana Miller and Jacob Perkins, a Bonnie and Clyde musical act with attitude and a commitment to the future.
If the folk rock soul duo Dear Frontier (NZ/US) was a place, it would be wild and whimsical, rugged and tender, a surreal landscape filled with lights and colors, populated by shaman, misfits and everyday heroes. Somewhere at the crossroads between Violent Femmes and Belle & Sebastian, there is a guy singing songs you can see and a girl smashing out drum beats you can feel, playing up a storm in a hard rain.
From Eddy Moretti, founder of Vice Magazine, New York – “It was 2007, I was racing through the hills above Beirut at night and the kid who was driving was going way too fast. There was a Johnny Cash song playing and then the next song came on and I was like, “What the hell is this music this is the best song I’ve heard in my life!” I asked him who this was. It was this guy Jacob Perkins. I listened to the album when I got back, loved the whole thing, passed it around the Vice office. I discovered the video and thought I’d better get in touch. It was a very surreal experience. Three thumbs up.”
“Restrained and exuberant, decorative and minimal, wildly stimulating and completely accessible. Listening to Dear Frontier is like attending a gypsy dinner party with Luke Skywalker and Indiana Jones” - Suni Gibson, Wellington, NZ
From Chelsea Jade Metcalf, The Teacups and Watercolours, Auckland, NZ – “With innate chemistry that ricochets between vocal hum, guitar strum and drum slap wafting over their mesmerized audience, Jacob Perkins and Hana Miller are every bit the charm and command of a musical outfit you’ll want to wear with your best shufflin’ shoes”
Brannavan Gnanalingam, The Lumiere Reader, Wellington, NZ – “Perkins’s music is fiercely DIY and the album features some beautiful melodies and an intimate spareness that’s arresting…Perkins is certainly an artist to keep an eye out for, and whether it’s in film or music or both, there’s some considerable talent evident.”
